- Biography/History:
- The Albertype Company was founded by the Witteman Brothers as a view and souvenir viewbook publishing business after the Civil War and operated until 1952.
- Summary:
- The following cities and towns are represented: Blakeslee, Bryn Mawr, Clarion, Eagles Mere, Hoban Heights, Indiana, Lackawaxen, Lewisburg, Lord's Valley, Loretto, Mansfield, McConnellsburg, McKeesport, Mercersburg, Punxsutawny, Philipsburg, Reading, Renovo, Ridgeway, Sayre, Shillington, and State College.
- There are also many views of the Sesqui-Centennial grounds and buildings. Of note are a number of views of the Archdiocese exhibit.
- Collection contains views of towns and cities, all in Pennsylvnaia. Subjects include businesses, universities and colleges, churches, schools, streets, and natural attractions. Many negatives are copy negatives of postcards, calendar and viewbook illustrations.
