Summary:
Contains lantern slides illustrating the history of the John Wanamaker department store in Philadelphia. Shows interior and exterior views of several stores, particularly the Center City location. Includes displays of merchandise, especially of pianos. Also portrays employees, weavers, and workers in machine rooms. Depicts views of the Philadelphia skyline, highlighting the North American Building, City Hall, churches, banks, sites in Independence Park and Fairmount Park as well as the Bourse, Reading Terminal, Broad Street Station, and the University of Pennsylvania. Includes images of statuary, and parades. Also contains some portraits.
