- Doodlebugs were diesel-electic or gas-electric interurban trains, used often in conjunction with larger train systems, such as the Baltimore and Ohio (B & O) Railroad. The Doodlebug Convention is an annual convention for fans of the B & O doodlebugs in and around Ohio. B & O doodlebugs were built by the J.G. Brill Co. (Philadelphia, Pa.), and their last run in southeastern Ohio, from Zanesville (Ohio) to Parkersburg (W. Va.) took place on July 18, 1953.
