The Guide, prepared by the Afro-American Historical and Cultural Museum, is a preliminary survey of afro-american related resources found in various libraries and research institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area; it is a work in progress and not the difinitive guide that the Afro American Historical and Cultural Museum had intended to issue.
The item is accompanied by a letter dated April 18, 1988 written by Nannette Clark, Director of Collections at the museum, explaining its purpose and requesting additional collection information from the institutions in order to complete the guide.
