Contains three plays developed for use in grades 4-6 as teaching aids on the ethnic groups of the Lower East Side: Grand Street: Teacher's Manual a 56 page play about Jews in the Lower East Side and a guide for classroom discussion and additional reading assignments on the topic; The Dance and the Railroad: Teacher's Manual a 78 page play about the Chinese railraod workers' strike in 1867 and a teacher's guide with background information and discussion questions; and La Morena: Teacher's Manual a 68 page play about a Puerto Rican family coming to New York in the 1940s with discussion questions and an essay on Puerto Rican migration.
