Summary:
Twenty-five year old Philadelphian Dino Dizdarevic was found murdered in Chester, PA on May 6th, after meeting someone he found on the gay hook-up site Grindr. But the miasma hanging over this tabloid account is not simply a cautionary tale of the dangers of hook-up sites, but rather the loss of someone who seemingly had everything going for him. Looking at the Facebook photo, which the Metro used of him, Dino appeared to have a whole life ahead of him: cute, good job, good neighborhoord, smart. But someone chose to cut that all short: either a homophobe who preys on gay men or a self-loathing fringe member of the gay community itself. In either case it doesn't matter. In Philadelphia gay men were looking at that photo and the description of his horrible death and were saying: In other circumstances that could have been me.
