- The Victor Alfieri Society, named after the 18th century Italian tragic poet, was founded in 1908 in Scranton, Pennsylvania and chartered in 1911 by young male Italian immigrants for social and cultural purposes. The society held dances and debates, performed plays, and collected moneys for charities. Its name changed several times, reflecting the current interests of the club. The volume contains minutes.
