- "There are two sections to this compilation. The first 39 pages were copied from tombstones by members and friends of the Hunter-Martin Museum. The second 16 pages are a listing done by Horatio Shull Gates in 1924, with an alphabetical index. Some of Mr. Gate's names are buried in Church Hill Cemetery. The resting places of the others remain unknown, probably in this cemetery, are included here as they are a part of the history of this area. The only known exception is Sarah Snyder (226) who is buried in the Scotch-Irish Cemetery, Martins Creek, Pa...." -- From title page.
