- Summary:
- One branch of the Franey family that we know began in 1853 when two brothers, Michael and John arrived in NYC on the ship Enterprise in January 10, 1853 and settled in Philadelphia. There were other Franey's in Philadelphia at the time who may have been related to Michael and John. The brothers indicate they came from Co Mayo. A story has come down in the family that the Franey's of Shenadoah, PA were cousins. That has never been verified."--from first page.
