Summary:
The most representative female voice of Pernambuco modernism, Tereza Costa Rêgo (1929-2020) was a painter from Olinda and the world. The work of the artist is marked by rebellion and political restlessness, always denouncing social injustices and conservatism, but at the same time full of beauty and lyrism, especially in the portrayal of women, who appear as voluptuous, passionate and liberating figures, amid scenarios of an incandescent red. The book include unpublished texts signed by artists, curators and writers and color reproductions of works of various phases of the modernist painter native of Pernambuco, in addition to testimonials from friends and Tereza herself, which permeate the pages of the book, whose editorial project is signed by the journalist, writer and granddaughter of Tereza, Joana Rozowykwiat.
