Summary:
Martin Schaub (1721-1792) immigrated in 1737 from Switzerland to Philadelphia, with his mother and step-father and the rest of their family. He married Elizabeth Heier, a fellow immigrant, and moved from Berks County, Pennsylvania to Augusta County, Virginia. Descendants (chiefly spelling the surname Shobe) and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and elsewhere.
