- Summary:
- All Thoughts Fly continues a multimedia project by Sasha Litvintseva and Beny Wagner that began with their film "A Demonstration" (2020), bringing its underlying modular structure into new configurations specific to book form. This narrative assemblage of prose and image is at once historical, personal, and theoretical. It continues the authors' inquiry into the curious presence of taxonomies of monsters in early modern European science. Starting from the etymology of the word "monster," they explore monsters as prisms for modes of seeing and deciphering the natural world, and by extension, the medium of film and its relation to indexicality, chance, corporeality, and metamorphosis.
