This is a manuscript ketubah (Jewish marriage contract) written and signed on Thursday, 14 Elul 5546 (September 7, 1786) in Binswangen, Germany, for the marriage of Mosheh, son of Shemuʼel Yaʻaḳov (formerly the chazzan and community halakhic decisor; "ש"ץ ומ"ץ פה יא'") to Leʼah bat Juda (not her first marriage; "אורמלתא"); document unadorned, with two witness signatures and the groom's signature below text. Ketubah text written in 12 long lines in an 18th century Ashkenazic cursive script; final line written mostly in a square script. Document previously folded in eight parts (center fold partially torn).
