- Summary:
- Cooper does not want to think life is not worth living. However, he describes a recent instance when shopping at a sporting goods store where he considered purchasing a handgun. He had a fleeting thought that if he did kill himself, it would be with a gun, which scared him at the time. He has not considered a plan and refuses to make one, as he does not want to harm his family. Cooper vividly remembers when his mom attempted suicide and its affect on him and his family. Cooper always felt that he might develop the same thinking that drove his mother to attempt suicide, as he heard depression runs in the family. Cooper wants his future to improve but is not hopeful that things will.
