Summary:
Sam displays high energy, an elated mood, a sense of grandiosity, and slightly pressured speech. She understands that her mother is upset since she stopped taking her medication. When asked how long it has been since she was taking her medication, Sam is unable to provide a concrete answer. Sam stopped complying with her medication because she believed her life wasn’t fun before and she needed to be creative and write a song for her high school graduation. Sam acknowledges that her mother and others want her to comply with her medication and be more inhibited and that she made mistakes in the past. However, Sam believes she has learned from those past mistakes when she stopped taking her medication and won’t repeat them again. According to Sam, she has “evolved.” When asked if Sam was aware of these mistakes when she was making them last time, she agrees she was not but says she knows what signs to look for.
