Biography/History:
Bitopi Dutta is Assistant Professor at the School for Life at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun, India. She is a former IRC Scholar and has a PhD from Dublin City University, Ireland. She earned her MA in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and her BA Honours in Sociology from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, India. Her research interests include Development Induced Displacement (DID), traditional methods of conflict resolution, gender studies and indigenous people. She has co-authored and edited several book publications on DID and on traditional methods of conflict resolution in Northeast India.
