Summary:
Cicero's daughter Tullia is the fragile thread in this story. You would have heard nothing about her at school and not at university. If you wanted to find out something about the women who lived during the time of the great men, you must read about the great men. There was no other way. In fact, we have almost no knowledge of women's thoughts and feelings until they themselves begin to tell about them. It would take a very long time. We will never know who Tullia was at heart. Based on her interest in antiquity, Kerstin Ekman writes about a young woman's life and world, in a rich and tender book with fictional and personal elements.
