Summary:
Full-color, full size facsimile reproduction of Manuscript Additional 19587 held at the British Library. The manuscript is a fourteenth-century (approximately 1370) codex written and illustrated in southern Italy containing Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. On folio 177v a later hand has added entries of births and deaths of the Monforte family, Counts of Biseglia (Naples), between 1449 and 1483.

One historiated initial with full border with foliate and heraldic (azure, a bend argent, impaling quarterly, azure and argent, four stars counterchanged) decoration (folio 61). Forty-eight bas-de-page colored ink drawings, some with gold, at the beginning of each canto (folios 2, 3 ,4 ,8 ,9v, 11, 21, 22v, 24v, 26, 28, 29v, 31v, 33, 35, 36v, 38, 40, 42, 44, 45v, 47v, 49, 51, 52v, 54v, 56, 58, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 66v, 68, 69v, 73, 77*, 77, 80v, 83, 85, 86v, 88, 89v, 92, 94, 96, 97v); unfinished ink drawings on folios 100v, 102v, 104, 106, 107v, 110, 111v, 113v, 115, 117). Large initials in gold on blue grounds with white and red penwork decoration. Rubrics in red. No decoration in the Paradiso text (folios 119-177).
