Summary:
Fragment of a Kinot manuscript (dirges following the reading of Lamentations on the Ninth of Av), written likely in Rome (certainly in Italy) during the 12th or 13th centuries. Many of the Kinot are attributed to Eleazar Kallir; beginning with the final stanzas of למי אמרת מכל בני אב (recto text begins with מחומשות נשיכות) and finishes on the verso, which begins the Kinah מה עשו אבותיכם (following the order of the Roman rite). An additional small fragment of an adjoining folio contains text from the Kinot איכה ישבה חבצלת השרון and אוי כי אוסרתי בזיקים (both attributed to Kallir; fragment recto) and additional Kinot fragmentary text (fragment verso). Written in 21 lines, blind-ruled; sentence punctuations (colons, periods) between stanzas; punch holes at inner margin; written in a early medieval Italian square script.
