Summary:
The comprehensive version of Anne Frank's diary (originally published as "De Dagboeken van Anne Frank", 's-Gravenhage: Staatsuitgeverij, 1986), prepared by the Netherlands State Institute for War Documentation. The introductory material (pp. 1-212) gives results of scientific research on the manuscripts, including laboratory reports, to prove their authenticity. Comments on and compares the original text with various translations, abridged editions, and with theater productions. Pp. 213-791 contain the text of the diary in three versions.
