The book discusses the history of Tiberias and its Arab inhabitants during British rule between 1918 and 1948. The book, which relies on unexplored archival sources, sheds new light on the history of the city's Arab inhabitants, who towards the end of the mandate were about half of its population. In this context, the book delves into the social, demographic, political and economic changes that the Arabs of Tiberias underwent under British rule. It examines the role of the Arab elite in leading the Tiberi family in running the city, and its relations with the British on the one hand and with the Jewish neighbors on the other. The discussion of the Arabs of Tiberias is presented as part of the overall discussion of the city's history, including its Jewish residents. The book demonstrates the existence of Tiberias as a mixed city, whose almost all systems, except the religious ones, operated in common and in good relations that were praised on all sides.
