- Summary:
- Anthological exhibition of Santiago García Sáenz (Argentina 1955-2006), with works ranging from the 80s to his last works in the first decade of 2000. Since his death in 2006, readings on his work have been diverse: perhaps the most curious considered him a religious painter. An artist from an upper class, from a bourgeois family, his work mixes debauchery and sacred images: this story has little to do with God and his purity, but rather with earthly miseries, excesses and everything that happens at night and in secret. The darkness of the city and the jungle spread through these paintings and speak of what happens in silence: violence, discrimination, addictions, illness, death and sex.
