"In a joint statement today following the Medgar Evers Memorial at Convention Hall, Louis S. Smith, Chairman of Philadelphia CORE and Cecil B. Moore, President of Philadelphia NAACP announced that both groups will demonstrate at City Hall Monday. In a prepared joint statement Moore and Smith said: 'The City absolutely must stop subsidizing discrimination of contractors who recruit from proven discriminatory sources...'"
