Compendium manuscript of customs surrounding Shehitah (kosher slaughter) and butchering, citing authorities and locales; contains laws pertaining to inspecting lungs (f. 1r-6v), rulings by Marbits (Mordekhai ben Joseph Berdugo, 1715?-1762 (date terminus post quem); f. 6v-10v), a ruling from the rabbis of Fès on thread-like lung adhesions ("תשובת שאלה מחכמי פאס יע"א מה ששאלת שכתבת שמצאת סירכא בווארדא כחוטין דקין..."; f. 10v-11v), a responsa by Maimon Yafil of Algiers regarding the vertebrae (f. 11v-12v), miscellanea (f. 12v-19v), the Terefot customs of Tafilalt (f. 20r-25v) and Fès (f. 25v-35v). Local and contemporary authorities cited include the Berdugo rabbinical dynasty (Moses ben Abraham, 1679?-1730; and Refa'el) of Meknès, and additionally Jacob ibn Zur (1673-1753) and Judah ben Jacob ibn Attar (1655-1733). Written in a Sephardic semicursive script, in a scribal hand; catchwords; captions (written in a Sephardic square script).
