Summary:
Arrangement in manuscript of the Bedtime Shema, the extraliturgical arrangement of verses and prayers recited immediately preceding sleep, according to the day of the week; the beginning of every day's liturgy was to recite Proverbs III:6 three times ("בכל דרכיך דעהו..."), and Psalms CXIX is divided between each day's arrangement; an additional prayer negating nightmares, to be recited in front of the Mezuzah (door post scroll) by Śimḥah Galeno (spelled in Hebrew as גאלינא; Italian use of the name taken from Steinschneider, M., Die hebraeischen Uebersetzungen des Mittelalters, p. 578). Written in an Italian square script, with instructions written in an Italian cursive script; written in single columns of seventeen lines, blind-ruled on columns; possibly originating from Venice (former owner's inscription).
