- Summary:
- From the success of the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925, art deco gains international repercussion and arrives in Brazil. Antonio Gomide, his sister Regina and her husband, John Graz, would be heralds of this trend in São Paulo. The modernity of the work of these artists comes from the dissolution of boundaries and hierarchies between artistic modalities and the projectactivity dedicated to the creation of murals, stained glass and tapestries, in dialogue with architecture. Its audience: the elite of decaying coffee growers, sympathizers of modernism and travelled and cultured, and the industrialists on the rise
