- Symbiosis means the living together in more or less intimate association or even close union of two dissimilar organisms. The three types of symbiosis are MUTUALISM, in which there is a mutual beneficial association; COMMENSALISM, in which one organism obtains benefits from the other without damaging or benefiting it, and PARASITISM in which one kind lives in, on, or in intimate association with an organism at the expense of which it obtains benefits causing some degree of overt damage. This two dissimilar organisms are represented by the pianoand Violoncello, each instrument playing its own important symbiosis role. The use of circular permutation, transpositions, intervalic codes, spatial notation and special effects, on both instruments, are essential developing elements in the piece; each movement having its own compositional approach and character.
