- Ho-ketu-s, for cello and piano, is part of a set of compositions which seeks to reflect musically on metaphors of motion and its multiple poetic and compositional derivations. The duo is based on two references, intertwining them from the title to the musical conception. The first concerns the "hoquet" technique, a protopolifonic compositional procedure that recurs in several musical traditions and is based on the idea of alternation between voices. The second, the Afro-Brazilian culture, represented through the word ketu, which refers to the origins of candomblé in Brazil. This double referentiality determines an approach to this technical procedure in order to make explicit its rhythmic potentiality, engendering it as a defining element of a kind of motion machine that aims to create a sound kaleidoscope capable of combining sounds and affections from the most diverse sound universes.
