This piece is dedicated to Alicia Urreta (1930-86). She was an accomplished pianist and a critical figure in the music scene in Mexico. She established the National Symphony Orchestra and was founder of the Camerata of Mexico. This homage made me think about how life is defined by instants. These instants shape us and identify us with time. There are instants that are more significant than others in the life of people. This is the main reason why I created this homage by dividing small musical miniatures that represent a particular instant in time. Each miniature contains a strict sound world comprised by a collection of specific tones, centering in musical aspects such as motives, rhythm, reverbs, register and timbre. I.Grief. II.Melancholy.
