- The 'In nomine' was a section of plainsong from a mass by John Taverner. During the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, hundreds of works (including many for viol consort) by English composers were based on this fragment. My composition pays tribute to this tradition, using the plainsong fragment freely and motivically. This composition was the winning entry to the National Centre for Early Music Young Composers' Award 2011, and was first performed by Fretwork in Kings Place, London, on 21 December 2011.
