- Quartet RBG was commissioned for the Belcea String Quartet by the businessman and art collector Michael Galloway in memory of his twin brother. Robin Galloway spent his life in sea-borne commerce developing a particular expertise in the containeristion of cargo on the trade routes of the South Atlantic.The quartet is in two movements. The first is a 'marine' or seascape. The second is a meditation built from fragments of the great Victorian hymn "Eternal father, strong to save, whose arm hath bound the endless wave".
