- Dromena is an open form piece for string quartet. The composition method was based on the combination of numerous musical gestures for each of the string quartet instruments written as material during the first stage of the composition. Each instrument has each own 'character' and the compositional procedure was to combine these characters in a functional way.Performers are invited to collectively decide on the form of their version. They should collectively decide which of the 22 Dromena they would like to perform and in what sequence. Each version of the piece should consist of at least three Dromena. They chosen Dromena should be played in whole, reading the score in the 'normal' way, from left to right. The lines of the space notation describe how long a tone should be held. The duration of a line is random but players should be aware of keeping the right - according to their decisions - 'space-time relations' (they should collectively 'translate' the space in time and follow the same time plan). A Dromeno can be repeated provided that one or more other Dromena are inserted between repetitions to avoid successive appearances of the same Dromeno.
