- Notes:
- Nepantla (2004) was composed for Chiasmo Ensemble (ensemble in residence at Penn State at that time) and Christian Baldini, its conductor. Nepantla in Nahuatl is "entre medio" (in between). The word is used in the way Gloria Anzaldúa does in her work, related to the borderland. The instruments create bridges, channels, means that evolve reaching borders, creating new musical spaces. A steady status of articulation-disarticulation in the stream of the music feels us to experiment the limit, the boundary.
