Notes:
Interacting with infinity , for shakuhachi, koto, violin, viola, cello, double bass, percussion and electronics, is one composition from a series which use abandoned spaces as their starting point, through field recordings, metaphors and images (in collaboration with Jesus Acosta http:--cargocollective.com-jesusacosta-Abandoned-City). This particular piece is based on a field recording of a ferris wheel that lies in an abandoned amusement park in the former East Berlin. The wheel continues to live and breathe through the force of the wind which propels it forward in an erratic manner. The electronics, notation, and instrumental technique attempt to capture this quality as well as the aura of the space. Premiered (recording) in Amsterdam, Holland, August 2012, in collaboration with the SWR Experimental Studio and the Atlas Academy Musicians.
