- Notes:
- In my recent readings I was particularly caught by the The Waste Land by T.S. Eliot. Besides the beautiful, musical verses and the multiple narrative, I was particularly struck by the strength of the general message, id est a sharp sense of (not hopeless) desolation, loss and moldering: a longing for redemption for a bare land, in the broader sense of the term.Fascinated by the universality of this concept, I wrote a piece that would use different poets and languages (not Eliot), and would let the semantic of music itself to speak, with the aid of the text meaning and sounds. With and beyond words, I pictured a short narration of these dramatic events, unfolding in front of ourselves, like the Eliotian clairvoyant.
