- Resplandor de los Surem is a piece in search of itself. Valverde has admitted to continually reworking it without being able to fix its final destiny. Perhaps it does not have any? The music seems to go astray; its meshing of sound is distantly reminiscent of an impressionistic image lost in unfamiliar territory, inhabited by infinite resonances and unknown silence. From time to time a light tremolo, sometimes focused on the higher or lower range of the piano, barely oscillates in the stillness, like a double arrow unable to aim. In spite of stormy fortissimo that slowly, premeditatively, comes crashing down, Resplandor de los Surem is a piece reflecting the uncertainty and fading of musical memories.
