Notes:
This work for Alto voice solo an fixed electronics is based upon a short text by Jean Paul (if I were a tone). The intention here was to work with the notion of temporal being expressed through time by changing diversities as the work progresses, its various phases and facets representing the divergence of concentration and how experience differs according to attention. The vocal part has been phonetically arranged with the original text as basis with the intention to explore the potential sound characteristics and possibilities of the human voice. Using a modular based harmonic system that undergoes constant permutation and modulation as well as rhythmic variants for percussive phonetics the intention here was to enhance the musicality of the phoneticisms into a homogenous work. The tape (electronics) part is taken from the musical information in the score and is interpreted by a wave-table synthesis programme which has been subjected to drastic filter treatments and other time stretchings to produce a seemingly irreconcilably contrasting timbral tone-poem though being divergently synthetic serves as a dynamic alter-accompaniment to the solo voice.
