- Resonant Choirs Resonant Choirs is about the resonance of metallic percussion instruments such as cymbals, gongs and tam-tams. The idea is to use other instruments to represent the metallic resonance, to alter its decay time, creating a resonance that is continuous. Thus, the main gesture of the piece imitates the properties of a cymbal, being stretched in each repetition and arriving at a very long and artificial resonance. This held resonance is then filtered, fading out and in, and becoming the resonance of bell-like chords played by the pianoand the harp. These chords become pulsating objects that disappear, leaving the static resonance in a continuous ringing.
