- This virtuosic accordion piece of 1994 is dedicated to Margit Kern, the first interpreter. The new version was written in collaboration with the accordionist Lydia Schmidl in 2016. I try to find an old approach of the player of scores from the early Renaissance times. Some of those scores around 1400 were so intricate that players had to "fly" over the texts in a kind of controlled improvisation. The perspective could be compared with the view of a high flying bird of the world underneath. In my "Ciconietta" I refer to composer Johannes Ciconia and his chanson "Le ray au soleyl", a canon in 4:3:1 proportions. At least, this is one of some possible solutions of his cryptic advice.
