- Notes:
- This piece is related to ancient Greek music fragments from Delphi. Scales sometimes use old enharmonic modes with quartertones. The quartet may be a kind of "program music", since the movements paint some of my reactions to a theater piece of Heinrich von Kleist, "Penthesilea". The titles of the movements are: 1st PAIAN (ancient song, related to Apollon) 2nd AULODIA (related to Dionysos) 3rd CACCIA (related to Diana) After this evocation of the three gods, a scenery on earth follows: 4th PENTHESILEA A THEMISCYRA 5th IL TORMENTO D'ACHILLE 6th EPILOGO D'APOLLO - UN FRAMMENTO
