"Contour-ism" is one of the series that embodies the "ambiguity of sound" that I always emphasize in composing music. It is written with the idea of "Duo" between keyboard instrument (mainly piano) and the other instruments, however, at that time the other instruments always conflict with the pianoat quarter-tone (half intervals of a semitone) by doing so, the sound of the piano, which was thought to be the "fixed sound", sounds distorted. Recognition as to which pitch is correct is lost, and this music progresses while tracing "contour" of each other's sound ambiguously.
