"This book was printed within a twenty-minute walk from the author's boyhood home and within a twenty-minute drive from Churchill Downs. The printer's favorite restaurant used to be the Fish-Meat Village (actual name Kingfish), but it was torn down and replaced with a Starbucks-- that figures. The text was taken from The Great Shark Hunt, 1979. The book was set by hand in the Bembo typeface, the type having been cast by Ed Rayher at the Swamp Press and Typefoundry. It was printed on Nideggen paper using a Vandercook SP20 proof press. The portrait of the author for the cover was created by Carol Blinn, and the book was bound at the Campbell-Logan Bindery. 28 copies were printed. Hopefully you have enjoyed reading this book-- if not, well... We can do without your kind in Kentucky."--Colophon.
