- Summary:
- It is our pleasure to welcome you to the first workshop on High Performance Serverless Computing (HiPS2021). Serverless computing is poised to become not only the face of cloud computing in the commercial world, but also a model for remote and distributed computing more broadly. The first workshop on High Performance Serverless Computing will provide the high performance and distributed computing community with a dedicated forum for discussing foundational research in serverless computing in both industry and academia. The workshop brings together these communities to share experiences and advance the state of the art in highperformance serverless computing. This first edition of the workshop (HiPS2021) took place as a half-day virtual event. The call for papers attracted submissions from industry and academic institutions across the world. The program committee reviewed and accepted 7 paper submissions: three full papers and four short papers. The papers were evaluated based on their significance, innovation, and technical quality. Each paper received at least three reviews from the technical program committee and was discussed to make sure each paper was reviewed fairly.
