- The Western Joint Computer Conference returned to San Francisco, Calif., for the second time in 1959. The dynamic growth in our industry and the computer industry growth in the San Francisco area is evidenced by the doubling of attendance since 1956. The 1959 Western Joint Computer Conference presented a view of "New Horizons with Computer Technology." These new horizons are appearing with the new circuits and devices that are arising from the maturing research efforts of our growing businesses. Similarly, new vistas are opening as a result of the knowledge gained through the application and utilization of computers throughout our entire economy. These annual conferences are intended to provide an opportunity for the professional people in the computer industry to discuss their technical and business interests and accomplishments. The papers herein present the record of these discussions.
