- Summary:
- This is a manuscript bifolium of an elegy for Samuel David Luzzato (1800-1865, Italian Jewish scholar, poet, and Biblical commentator), written by his son; the refrain of the poem uses Psalms XV:1, imposing "who shall take thy place" as a prose ḳinah (elegy) for Samuel Luzzato. Written in nine stanzas in a Sephardic-Italian style script on onionskin paper; bifolium pressed flat (original f.1v-2r now verso); author signature (בנך בכורך יא"ר) following final stanza on verso.
