- Summary:
- This essayistic film is both an adaptation of Debord's book and an example of a favoured situational tactic, détournement, which is a reuse of existing artistic elements in a new ensemble. An examination of the most fundamental tendencies and contradictions of the society we live in. Incorporates an apparent jumble of footage from feature films juxtaposed with still photographs, industrial films, early 1970's glossy "lifestyle" TV ads, and news footage of unrest in the streets.
