- Summary:
- Documents the serious threat to water quality, sub-alpine ecosystems and public health in the Colorado Rockies from mining operations, acid rain and urbanization. More time has been given to the story of today's vast mining operations, such as the Climax Molybdenum mined owned by AMAX. Although today's mining company officials are more environmentally aware than their predecessors, and though their operations are more strictly regulated by state and federal officials, the film demonstrates that the sheer size of these mines cannot help but impact the fragile mountain ecosystems adversely from now essentially into perpetuity.
