- 本书为"丝绸之路石窟艺术丛书(第二辑)"之一.全书依托曹氏政权初期的历史背景,运用文献学,考古学及图像学等研究方法,探讨莫高窟98窟中佛教艺术和世俗文化之间的关系.莫高窟第98窟是由敦煌曹氏归义军首任节度使曹议金主持营建,历时十年(914-924),成为曹氏时期极富代表性的大型石窟之一.该窟的营建不但彰显着曹氏家族的地位与政治势力,更是见证着曹氏家族在敦煌历史上开启曹氏归义军政权这一重要功绩,同时亦对后代石窟艺术的营建产生深远影响.
