- On the Inside of a Military Dictatorship takes the audience back to when the Myanmar military made their master plan for a so-called disciplined democracy and wrote a very scripted role for their enemy #1, Aung San Suu Kyi. The film takes the viewer into the crisis in the news--but with an intimate look behind the scenes. The story is based on unique access to the key players in this complicated drama, including Aung San Suu Kyi and the previous President Thein Sein. It's the story of how power struggles unfold and how political enemies can end up being closer than the ones they claim to fight for: the people.
