Summary:
This is a manuscript of a ḳinah (a lamentation piyut) recited on the eve of the Ninth of Av, and as in most rites is recited immediately following the reading of Lamentations. This version of the ḳinah is the Sephardic and Oriental version (this version mentions the priestly rotation of Jehoiarib, the head of priests on duty in the Second Temple during the invasion of the Roman legions in 70 A.D.); piyut generally attributed to Kallir (6th century Palestine) and this manuscript was likely a document copy of this ḳinah for a community praying in a Sephardic rite in France or England. Written in 17 lines on a bifolium frame-ruled in lead; written in a 19th century square Ashkenazic script, vocalized.
